MPs using the Give-As-You-Earn scheme
Request
I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information regarding payroll giving from MPs.
My understanding is that with payroll giving, the donations you make to charity are taken from your pay before income tax is deducted. It must be paid through PAYE from someone's wages or pension.
Please could you let me know
How many MPs currently use the payroll giving scheme to give to charities?
Response
I can confirm that we hold information relevant to your request.
There are 14 Members of Parliament who are signed up to make a donation to charity through the Give-As-You-Earn scheme.
