List of items purchased by MPs and returned after a General Election

This information is not held by IPSA.

Former MPs are unable to return items to IPSA. They have several options for what to do.

They can:

• keep the items and repay the depreciated value to IPSA

• sell the items and pay the proceeds to IPSA

• donate the items to a charity

• pass the items to another MP

From recollection no MPs have sold items and sent the money to IPSA; a small number have purchased the items and submitted a repayment. Most MPs either donate the items to charity or pass them to another MP.
