Details of MP salary payments

I am writing to request information on how much the Prime Minister Boris Johnson was paid during the period of his entering hospital on 5th April 2020 to returning to work on 27th April 2020. If this can be supplied in the form of April's payslip for the PM then that would be ideal. I would prefer this information be received via email.

I can confirm that we hold information relevant to your request.

From the date they are elected MPs receive their full salary only and do not, should they become unwell, receive any statutory sick pay. IPSA publishes the details of MPs’ pay on its website.

Therefore to answer your question the Prime Minister would have continued to be paid as normal for this period, the exact amount being a proportion of the published salary amount. IPSA does not hold any payslips as ministerial pay is a matter for the Cabinet Office.
