Details of claims for the cost of sanitary products for MPs' offices

Request

In July [2019], IPSA told MPs that they could now 'claim for the cost of sanitary products for their office at their discretion’:

Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide me with details of all such claims made since then, including the cost and claimant.

Please also provide copies of any correspondence on the matter IPSA has received in the past year.

Response

I can confirm that we do hold some information relevant to your request.

MPs may have been making claims for the cost of sanitary products, but we would only know about these if they had specified the nature of the claim. Sanitary products are not listed as a specific item, against which we could run a search to determine who may have made a claim and value of this.

In terms of correspondence, we received an email, as well as being mentioned in a tweet – see the Appendix correspondence.
