Details of any staff employed by Tristam Hunt on casual contracts

Request

Please could you release to me whether Tristram Hunt employed anyone on a casual contract (often referred to as a zero hours contract) between election in 2010 and the end of the 2013/14 year./  I ask because according to your website he never employed anyone until the 2014/15 year, which seems highly unlikely: http://www.theipsa.org.uk/mp-costs/your-mp/tristram-hunt/

Response

IPSA holds the information that you have requested.

MPs may employ individuals on casual contracts, whereby the staff member is paid an hourly rate rather than an annual salary. Such contracts often stipulate a regular working pattern (such as the number of hours per week or per month) and are not therefore the same as ‘zero hour contracts’.

Following a change to our publication policy, we started publishing information about MPs’ staffing arrangements in 2014-15. This included the job titles of staff employed by each MP during that financial year alongside their employment arrangement.

According to our records, Tristam Hunt did not employ any staff on a casual contract between 2010-11 and 2013-14.
