  1. How many individuals has she registered with IPSA in very year since her election that were/are only paid expenses (ie those who were paid lunch/travel expenses not individual who were paid wages through IPSA)

  2. How many days of labour did these individuals provide to Ms Malhotra each year?

Response

Under the MPs’ Scheme of Business Costs and Expenses (‘the Scheme’), Staffing Expenditure may be claimed to meet the costs of incidental expenses incurred by volunteers. MPs who engage volunteers must submit a signed volunteer arrangement with the volunteer to IPSA before any claims for incidental expenses will be made. The signed arrangement must comply with the model volunteer arrangement published by IPSA. Incidental expenses are limited to reasonable travel and food, and non-alcoholic drinks.

At the time of responding, 10 volunteers have been registered with IPSA by Seema Malhotra MP since May 2010. A breakdown of registrations by financial year can be found below.
