Names of MPs who purchased shares in Royal Mail

Request

I wish to make a Freedom of Information Request regarding the MP's acquisition of Royal Mail shares as it was about to be sold off. I think that it is only fair that MP's which bought shares and have subsquently made a large profit from the selling off of public assessts at the expense of the taxpayer should admit to doing so. In my eyes I see that the Royal Mail was not the government's to sell without public consultation, such as a referendum, so to see the motivation of the MP's I believe they should state whether they made a profit from selling the Royal Mail at an under inflated price.

Response

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is the body created by Parliament under the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009 to independently oversee and regulate MPs’ expenses. IPSA has two main roles: regulating the business costs and expenses system and administering and paying MPs’ expenses, pay and pensions.

As such, IPSA does not hold the information that you request.
