I understand that you commissioned a public Poll to assess what the general publics reaction to the MP's pay would be.

Please can you provide me with;

1) All the survey questions as asked,

2) The results of the survey

3) How many surveys were undertaken

4) How many responses to the survey you recieved back

5) Where and how the survey process was undertaken (geographical spread / postal / online etc)

IPSA holds the information that you request.

As part of the recent consultation on MPs’ pay and pensions, IPSA conducted two external opinion polls.

The first, undertaken by YouGov, surveyed 1,965 adults online between 15-16 July 2013 and focussed on constituent’s knowledge of their MP’s work. The figures were weighted and are representative of all GB adults (aged 18 and over).

The full results of this survey, which include all of the questions asked, alongside further information on the methodology, are available on our website.

The FOIA states that information that is accessible by other means is not subject to release. Therefore, as some of the information you have requested is already available on our website, it is exempt from disclosure under section 21 of the FOIA (information accessible to applicant by other means).

The second poll was undertaken by ComRes, who interviewed 2249 UK adults online between 20th September and 24th September 2013. As above, the figures were weighted and are representative of all GB adults (aged 18 and over).
