Response

IPSA holds some of the information that you request.

Taking your requests for information in turn:

  1. Please can you let me know the number of staff working for IPSA in each of the last 4 financial years who received pay (including bonuses) in the following salary brackets

IPSA was established in 2010 and therefore only holds the information you request from the financial year 2010/11.  Please find attached, in Annex A, the figures representing salaries received by IPSA staff paid through IPSA’s payroll.  It is not IPSA’s policy to pay bonuses, and no bonuses have been paid.

Figures include all permanent IPSA staff paid through the IPSA payroll and therefore do not equate to the number of posts within IPSA in any one year.  The figures do not include temporary or interim members of staff or secondees, whose salary is paid by the departments from which they are seconded.

Details of remuneration to IPSA Board Members can be found in IPSA’s Annual Report and Accounts.  Similarly, details of salaries paid to all staff at Director level or above, including interim staff, are also published each year in our Annual Report.  You can find these reports on our website by following this link

  1. Please let me know the pay rises awarded to staff for the last 4 financial years and how these awards were derived

IPSA awarded a 1% pay increase to all staff in the 2013/14 financial year in line with the rest of the Public Sector. No previous pay increases had been awarded.

  1. Please give details of any bonuses awarded to every board member for the last 4 financial years.

IPSA has not paid bonuses to Board Members or IPSA staff. As noted above, it is not IPSA’s policy to pay bonuses.

  1. Please give details of the appointment panels who selected the current board members.

Appointments to the board of IPSA are made by a statutory process which is established in Schedule 1 of the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009.  I have attached a copy of Schedule 1 for your reference.  Information on the most recent appointment of members to IPSA’s Board is detailed in an Explanatory Memorandum prepared by the House of Commons vote office.  Please also find attached a copy of that memorandum.
