For clarification I would be looking for the total number of web page requests that were made on IT equipment in your or provided by your department to the websites of the social media sites as I outlined in my FOI request.

Response

IPSA does not hold the information that you request.

IPSA does not hold historical internet statistical data.  The information we do hold dates from 1st January 2013 to the date of your request.

Access to Facebook is not permitted through IPSA’s internet filtering and, therefore, we do not hold the information you request in this respect.

As you may be aware, HTTP requests are made when web browsers send information to web servers.  This may relate to occasions where particular websites are accessed directly by individuals or where web pages include elements from particular websites, such as adverts or feeds and the browser subsequently make a request to those websites, which are also logged on our systems.  Our systems do not allow us to separate the number of requests made by browser elements from those made directly by individuals.
