Number of staff employed by IPSA and how many people have left per month.
Request
The number of staff employed by IPSA to administer the MPs expenses scheme’ and ‘how many members of staff have left IPSA’s employment, broken down by month, since its creation?
Response
I can confirm that IPSA holds the information that falls within the description specified in your request.
IPSA currently employs a total of 53.4 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff members including the staff employed within IPSA’s Compliance Office.
Please see Annex A for a table listing the number of IPSA staff that have left IPSA’s employment since we became fully operational in May 2010.
At its inception, IPSA was a slightly larger organisation. Over time we anticipated that the organisation would shrink as systems and processes became embedded and operations more efficient. It was for this reason that we employed a number of fixed term contractors, the figures for which are listed separately in the table.
