Correspondence relating to the European Research Group since September 2016

We have searched our correspondence systems for any correspondence containing the words ‘European Research Group’ and ‘ERG’ and have located twenty-seven emails received by or exchanged with members of the public which relate to the ERG. Copies of this correspondence can be found attached at Annex A, with personal data of individuals (such as their names and contact addresses) redacted in accordance with section 40(2) of the FOIA.

We have also located a small amount of correspondence exchanged with Tom Brake MP regarding the ERG. Copies of this correspondence can be found below.

Some personal data has again been redacted in accordance with section 40(2) of the FOIA. 

We have also located a small amount of correspondence exchanged with individuals identifying themselves as staff at the Guardian regarding the ERG. Copies of this correspondence can be found below.

Some personal data has again been redacted in accordance with section 40(2) of the FOIA. For reference, section 40(2) provides that personal information about third parties is exempt information if disclosure would breach the fair processing principle (Principle 1) of the DPA, where it would be unfair to those persons or is confidential.
