Validation of MPs' expenses

Request

  1. Have there been any recent policy changes made regarding the checking of receipts submitted by MPs as expenses.

  2. Is there a threshold under which receipts are not checked?

  3. Are receipts under a certain value not checked?

Response

In response to the first part of your request, I can advise that IPSA keeps its operational practices under constant review. This is to ensure that the process of validation of expense claims remains both effective and efficient.

Turning to the second and third parts of your request, there is no threshold under which receipts are not checked. All receipts submitted by MPs in support of their expense claims are checked as part of the claim validation process, irrespective of their value.
