Request for cost information about survey by MP, Will Quince

Request

Can you give me a full breakdown of the costs of the latest addressed survey which is being delivered to all registered constituents in Colchester from MP Will Quince.

  1. I would like to know what the overall paper and printing costs are along with how much staff time along with the cost has been spent on the survey including bundling it into delivery rounds. Please also include any other costs such as envelopes and other applicable ancillary costs.

  2. I would also like an estimated cost of postage as well for any surveys that have to be sent to constituents via Royal Mail or other paid for mail service and also any estimates for return costs if you're offering a free post address at the cost of the taxpayer.

Response

Your request asked about staff time and costs associated with Mr Quince’s survey. This information is not held by IPSA.

On the subject of staff time, the management of MPs’ office staff is not within IPSA’s remit and therefore we do not hold information about the time spent on the survey.

With regards to claims for the cost of the survey, at the time of your request Mr Quince had not submitted any claims. If he had submitted claims, it is unlikely that the evidence provided would make it possible to prove that the claim directly related to the work on the survey.

Further information about the rules and principles by which MPs must operate, including the costs for which they can make a claim and the procedure to follow can be found in the current version of The Scheme of MPs’ Staffing and Business Costs
