Records relating to costs for printed publications by Rob Roberts, MP

Request

I am told by the press office that IPSA keeps records of printed publications to ensure they are non party political. If held by IPSA, could you provide the receipts and any other records of printed publications by Rob Roberts MP related to wishing constituents a happy birthday or similar. For context I attach photographs (not included here) of one card received by a constituent – I am curious to know if this was done through IPSA approved spend.

Response

The Communications Team is correct that we retain copies of publications, the cost of which has been claimed by MPs.

In the case of Mr Roberts I checked the list of his published expense claims on IPSA’s website under the categories of bought-in services, advertising and contact cards and stationery and printing.

None of the claims under these categories relate to the printing of materials to be sent to constituents, similar to birthday cards.

We therefore do not hold any information in the scope of your request.
